I bought these for my son last year and he has gotten so much wear out of them! After they arrived in the mail and he opened the box, he didn't want to take them off for a week! He wore them through the summer, fall, winter and spring again until he grew out of them. They are still in great shape and hope to pass them along to another child. Kudos to Western Chief for making fun designs and sturdy boots for kids. We're now getting the race car ones in the next size up (size 9). They are great for rain (even snow-for short trips wearing warm socks), especially after the rain when your little ones want to play in the grass and mud and you know their sneakers will be filthy - put them in these and just hose them off when they're ready to come in! My son could easily put them on himself with the handy loops at the top! I wouldn't put him in these if I knew he was going to be running all day - since sneakers fit the foot better for that, but for trips to the park or even shorter walks and lots of outdoor play, they are great...
